Homecoming is scheduled for October 4-5th 2013. Our first upcoming event is Homecoming in which we need several volunteers to help the class parent rep gather food donations and to help supervise/motivate students on the morning of the float building. The parent reps also help to provide volunteers for the Staff Appreciation Breakfast, Dessert Night, and the Fine Arts Festival. The duties of the class parent are basically to contact other parents and guardians in the same class (coordinating with the class faculty advisor) to provide food, drinks and supervision for students during Homecoming and Talent Night. I, myself am looking for an additional parent to assist me in being a class parent for the sophomore class. I am currently looking for a couple of parents to please come forward and volunteer to be the class parent representatives for the senior class. I know how difficult it is to find the time to balance our daily schedules, but I am desperately looking for your support to assist me in volunteering some of that time with our upcoming school events. I am writing to you today to ask those of you who have not had the opportunity to respond.to please do so. I would like to thank those of you who were able to send in your completed forms regarding our schools upcoming calendar events for this year. Most of you might have seen the blue flyer that was sent home to you at the beginning of the school year. NECAP/PLAN/PSAT testing and Sophomore Career Event Scheduleġ0th and 11th graders report at the normal time for Sophomore Career Event and NECAPĩth and 12th graders report by 12:30 for Gray 1 and 2ġ1th graders only at the normal time for NECAPĩth, 10th, 12th report by 12:30 for Blue 1 and 2ġ0th and 11th graders report at the normal time for PLAN and PSATĩth and 12th graders report by 12:30 for Blue 3 and 4ĩth, 10th, 12th report by 12:30 for Gray 3 and 4 On the morning of October 9 th (while NECAPS are being administered) we will be running a special Career Event for all Sophomores.
Students who do not attend all sessions will have to make up the assessment and may have to take a test on a Saturday. It is mandatory that all Juniors take all sections of the NECAP test. The NECAP tests will also be used to measure our school’s adequate yearly progress (AYP) in line with the federal No Child Left Behind Act.īecause of desired testing conditions, we will run a late start schedule for all students on these days. We will use an analysis of the results of these exams, combined with other data sources, to advise students and guide our continuous school wide improvement through our annual action planning process. The PLAN and PSAT are practice college placement tests. The test will be given over three days with testing on October 9, 10, and 17, On October 16th we administer the PLAN to all Sophomores and the PSAT to all Juniors.
The State of Vermont requires we administer the New England Common Assessment Program’s (NECAP) tests in English and Math to all grade 11 students.
